Hilary Boynton - Founder of School of Lunch
Wednesday May 17, 2023
Wednesday May 17, 2023
Lunch time! In this incredibly exceptional episode, Paul meets with cookbook author, School of Lunch founder, and mother of five, HIlary Boynton. Hilary runs the school lunch program at the Manzanita School in Topanga Canyon - but this is no ordinary lunch! No PBJ sandwiches, no tater tots, and no processed sugar - lunch is sourdough bread fermented and baked on the premises served with plenty of ghee (clarified butter), slow roasted pork shoulder and Swiss chard.
Hilary serves food inspired by ancient traditions and cuisines around the globe that nourishes the students from the inside out. Dedicated to only serving the best, Hilary sources ingredients from local farms - Organic Pastures, Kandarian Organic Farms, and Apricot Lane Farms to name a few. Believing that you do better when you know better, Hilary also offers immersive cooking classes.
Catch Hilary’s contagious energy and enjoy the episode!

Tuesday May 02, 2023
Paul will be back next week with a fresh episode - in the meantime enjoy this encore of Paul’s interview with Richard Palmer from Meathead Movers. Full episodes are also always available on Paul’s YouTube channel.
One of the most stressful parts of moving is the packing and shipping of household goods.
In this episode, Paul gets to chat with Richard Palmer of a local moving company, Meathead Movers, to discover how their approach to moving keeps the process stress free - while giving back to the Ventura County community. Meathead Movers employs local college athletes and provides them with the mentoring they need to be successful in their future careers. Gyms on location? Check! Computer labs on location? Check! Fully licensed with background checks and insurance? CHECK!
In addition to mentoring local college athletes, Meathead Movers also gives back to the community through a not-for-profit Wrestling Club, partnering with local shelters to support victims of domestic violence, and sending dozens of trucks full of supplies into national disaster areas.
Curious how the company got their name? You’ll have to tune it to find out!
As a special bonus from Richard, any client who uses Paul's account code 250113 will receive 50 free small boxes delivered to their front door as a thank you for working with Paul! Thanks, Richard!
The best way to get in touch with Richard is to call or text him at (805)394-5055 or email RichardPalmer@MeatheadMovers.com. Read Richard’s full bio here.

ENCORE: Online Marketplace Home Estimates
Wednesday Apr 26, 2023
Wednesday Apr 26, 2023
Paul will return next week with a new episode! Until then, please enjoy one of Paul’s most popular episodes, Online Marketplace Home Estimates. Paul has over 20 years in real estate and here is what he really thinks of online home estimates…
Everyone is guilty of looking up the price of their house (and maybe their neighbor’s, too!) on an online marketplace. Sometimes the price of your house seems reasonable and other times…, it’s shocking! In this episode, Paul explains why sellers and buyers can’t always trust an online estimate.
Paul considers these online marketplace estimates to be a just single tool in determining the value of a home. Is your kitchen recently renovated or is your lot on usable acreage (as opposed to a cliff with great views)? Paul also stresses the importance of comparing sales prices to recently sold homes. If an appraiser isn’t going to consider an online estimate, should you?
The full episode is also available on Paul's YouTube channel!

ENCORE: The largest grower of roses west of the Rockies

Scott Klittich from Otto & Sons Nursery in Fillmore, CA
Thank you for joining us for a very special encore episode with Scott Klittich, owner of Otto & Sons Nursery in Fillmore! Don’t miss Rose Days 2023 at the nursery, happening April 19-21. Celebrate Otto & Sons 30th annual open house with a 1-mile walk through the nursery and learn more about rose growing and maintenance. More information is available on the Otto & Sons website.
Not only is Otto & Sons the largest growers of roses this side of the Rocky Mountains, the robust 40+ acre nursery includes acres of citrus trees, stone fruits, and perennial favorites. Whether you lean towards Floribunda, Grandiflora or Hybrid Tea roses, Scott and his knowledgeable staff can help avid home gardeners - and beginners alike - select from a variety of colors and fragrances.
Beware! Not all plants are suited for the growing condition of Ventura Country! Water availability, soil conditions, and climate are all important factors that must be considered when selecting a varietal. Just because plants may be available at some stores, doesn’t mean they’re right for Ventura County.
Passionate about the care of roses, Otto & Sons also offer in-person pursuing classes on Saturdays in the month of January. Can’t make it to class? You’re in luck! During Covid, Scott and his team recorded and shared many care videos on the nursery’s website. While recording this episode, Scott let us in on an interesting piece of trivia….There are more citrus trees located in residential landscaping than in commercial farms!
Can you guess which famous celebrity singers have enjoyed Otto & Sons roses? For a hint, you’ll have to listen to the interview!

Winery and Wellness Retreat Estate in Old Agoura CA with Proprietor Neal Marder
Wednesday Feb 15, 2023
Wednesday Feb 15, 2023
Enjoy these next 25 minutes as a vacation away from the stressors of daily life…
Paul interviews Neal Marder, proprietor of Heaven’s Hill Estate, a vineyard and Spiritual Retreat Center, in Old Agoura, California. Perched on the edge of the bustling metropolis of Los Angeles, Neal and his wife Gina have carved out a sanctuary for themselves, the community, and all animals. Heaven’s Hill is entirely plant-based property that honors the sanctity of all living things. In fact, during the recent drought that devastated local wildlife, animals were welcomed to enjoy the water fountains and produce in the organic garden.
As the largest vineyard in the area, Heaven’s Hill Estate currently produces four types of wines; Boho Blend, Sinner Syrah, Goddess Grenache, and Rapture Rose. The vines have adapted perfectly to the microclimate and produce exceptional wine. Fortunately for listeners close to Agoura Hills, the vineyard offers wine tastings and wellness retreats featuring soundbaths and yoga. For those not fortunate to live near the tranquil estate, shipping and a mail order wine club are available.
