Dr. Katie Nenneker from Nenn Equine
Wednesday Aug 02, 2023
Wednesday Aug 02, 2023
Horses, cows, goats, and pigs oh my! In this episode, Paul meets with Dr. Katie Nenneker, COO and co-founder of Nenn Equine to discuss what it’s like being a large animal mobile veterinarian in Southern California. Based out of Santa Rosa Valley near Camarillo, Dr. Nenn and her husband Greg Marx founded the practice in 2020 with the goal to service all animals in the surrounding communities in need of mobile veterinary care. Just three short years later, Nenn Equine is the primary vet source for large animals from Long Beach to Mojave.
Discover how Dr. Nenn treats large companion animals with state of the art laser technology to heal catastrophic injuries that once might not have been treatable. When she’s not saving lives, you’ll find her treating Los Angeles’s surprisingly large pot bellied pigs, including pedicures complete with rhinestones! There’s so much to learn about a practice that ranges from vaccinating flocks of chickens to splinting a broken leg for a Nigerian dwarf goat… but that’s not all!
Dr. Nenn has a few more endeavors up her sleeve! She’s in the process of starting a large animal hospital so community members and their animals don’t have to travel 400 miles to Davis CA for specialized care. She also created the non-profit Nenn Foundation to save animals who are in dire need of care their owners cannot afford.
Tune in to hear the incredible rescue story of DaVinci the pygmy goat, thanks to the Nenn Foundation in this episode!
